In the interest of full disclosure, OMAAT earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most American Express cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

Last week there was news of a new offer rolling out for Delta purchases, though none of my cards were targeted. I checked again and see this offer has now been added to my Amex Platinum Card, so figured it was worth writing about.

With this new, targeted Amex Offer, you can receive a $60 statement credit when you spend $300 in one or more transactions with Delta by November 12, 2019. This is essentially an opportunity to save 20% on the cost of a Delta flight, which is great.

The basic conditions to be aware of are as follows:

You need to spend $300, but it can be in multiple transactionsThe flight must originate in the US, and the purchase must be in USDThe terms don’t indicate that you actually have to book a flight, bur rather that it needs to be a valid purchase on delta.com, and can include things like airfare, upgrades, baggage fees, SkyClub memberships, etc.

Let me once again emphasize that this offer is targeted, so not all accounts will be eligible. Furthermore, as far as Amex Offers go, this one seems to be pretty narrowly targeted, because I only see it on one of my cards.

The ideal situation is that you have this offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express, since it offers 5x points on airfare purchased directly with airlines. I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so to me that’s the equivalent of an 8.5% return on spending right there.

When you add up both the $60 statement credit and 5x points, you’re potentially looking at some very nice savings. The one card on which I was targeted for this offer is my personal Platinum Card, so that’s awesome.

I continue to be so impressed by how much value Amex Offers adds to Amex cards, as in many cases these offers alone more than justify the annual fees on cards.

Were you targeted for this offer, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?
